PUBLICATION ETHICS
Ethical Standards
JOCHI: Journal of Chemical Indicators is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal follows internationally accepted ethical principles and adheres to the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to comply with these ethical standards to ensure the credibility, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record.
Duties of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to JOCHI must adhere to the following ethical responsibilities:
1. Originality and Plagiarism

Manuscripts must be original works and must not have been published or submitted elsewhere.

Proper acknowledgment and citation of the work of others are mandatory.

All submissions are screened for plagiarism using similarity detection software.
2. Data Integrity and Reporting

Authors must present accurate and honest research data.

Fabrication, falsification, manipulation, or selective reporting of data is strictly prohibited.

Raw data should be retained and made available upon reasonable request.
3. Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable.

Redundant or substantially overlapping publications are not permitted.
4. Authorship and Contributions

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant scientific contributions to the study.

All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

Any changes in authorship after submission must be justified and approved by the editorial office.
5. Acknowledgement of Sources

All sources of funding, institutional support, and significant contributions must be properly acknowledged.

Any use of copyrighted material must have appropriate permission.
6. Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of their work.
Duties of Editors
Editors of JOCHI are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal and must adhere to the following principles:

Evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and related information.

Ensure a fair, unbiased, and timely peer-review process.

Avoid conflicts of interest and recuse themselves when such conflicts arise.

Take appropriate action in cases of suspected ethical misconduct, following COPE procedures.
The Editor-in-Chief holds final responsibility for editorial decisions.
Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the quality of published research and are expected to:

Conduct reviews objectively, constructively, and within the agreed timeframe.

Treat manuscripts as confidential documents.

Identify relevant published work that has not been cited.

Report any suspected ethical issues, plagiarism, or conflicts of interest to the editor.

Decline review assignments if a conflict of interest exists.
Peer Review Integrity
JOCHI applies a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. This process is designed to promote impartial evaluation and minimize potential bias.
Handling of Ethical Misconduct
Suspected cases of ethical misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical authorship practices, will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines. Depending on the severity of the case, the journal may take actions including:

Notification to authors’ institutions or funding bodies
Retraction and Correction Policy
JOCHI is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. Articles may be retracted or corrected in cases of significant errors or ethical violations. Retractions and corrections will be clearly identified and publicly accessible.
Ethical Oversight
For research involving humans, animals, or hazardous materials, authors must confirm that all procedures comply with relevant ethical standards and regulations, and that appropriate approvals have been obtained.
